About Heaters & Boilers

This collection is plug-in electric heating: no plumbing, no boilers. For steady, quiet background warmth there are two oil filled radiators, the De'Longhi Radia S (1.5kW) and the Duux Edge 2000W with app control. The Duux Edge 1000W Gen 2 is an ultra-slim smart convector listed as IP24 (protected against splashing water). For fast heat aimed where you sit, Dreo offers the Solaris 628 ceramic tower with Eco mode and the compact Atom Core 1500W PTC heater.

Pick by how you use the room. Oil filled radiators warm up slowly but hold heat and suit long sessions; ceramic fan heaters heat a desk or sofa in minutes. Our oil-filled radiator vs convector vs fan heater guide compares warm-up time, noise and safety side by side. Every plug-in heater turns each kWh into roughly the same heat, so running cost is wattage times your unit rate: about 39p an hour for 1.5kW at full power at the Ofgem cap average of 26.32p/kWh. Keep heaters at least a metre from furniture and never leave them on unattended. Our electric heaters guide compares running costs in detail.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest electric heater to run?

Plug-in heaters convert electricity to heat at roughly the same rate, so no type is cheaper per kWh. The cheapest choice is the lowest wattage that warms your space, used with its thermostat or eco mode. At the Ofgem cap average of 26.32p per kWh, a 1.5kW heater costs about 39p an hour at full power.

Oil filled radiator or ceramic heater: which is better?

Oil filled radiators heat up slowly, run silently and keep radiating after the element cycles off, so they suit bedrooms and long evenings. Ceramic fan heaters such as the Dreo Atom Core warm a small area within minutes, which suits a desk or a short session. Choose by room size and how long you heat it.

Is it safe to leave an electric heater on overnight?

Fire services advise against it. West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service says not to leave a heater unattended or on while you are asleep, and to keep it at least a metre from anything combustible. Use the timer or schedule to warm the room before bed, and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Are smart heaters worth it?

They help if you would otherwise leave a heater running. App schedules and timers, as on the Duux Edge 2000W oil filled radiator, let you heat a room only when you need it and switch off remotely. The heat per kWh is the same as a basic model, so savings come from shorter running time.

Do you sell boilers?

Not at the moment. Despite the collection name, it currently holds plug-in electric heaters only. For plumbed central-heating radiators and towel rails see our radiators collection. A new gas boiler must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer, who can also advise on sizing.
