About Artificial Grass
Our artificial grass range centres on the Namgrass Pragma 40mm Artificial Grass Roll, a 20m² roll with a 40mm pile, a C-shaped blade with XST spine technology, 24,150 stitches per m² and a weight of 2.4kg/m². Its polyethylene backing is less absorbent than standard latex, which helps with pet odours, and the manufacturer says the whole roll can be recycled without separating layers. To keep any fake lawn looking fresh, the GreenSweep Reviver power brush comes in a 20V cordless or 1050W mains version, both with a 300mm helical brush turning at 800 RPM. For colour without watering, the UV-protected artificial flower hanging basket (35 x 50cm) suits porches and patios.
Plan before you order: measure the area, add extra for trimming and joins, and lay the grass on a prepared, compacted, free-draining base rather than bare soil. Once it is down, Tapi's artificial grass care guide recommends brushing against the grain weekly and a deeper wash every four to six weeks. Browse more in our garden range.
Frequently asked questions
How often should you brush artificial grass?
Tapi's care guide suggests a weekly brush against the grain with a stiff, non-metal brush, more often in autumn when leaves fall, plus a deeper clean every four to six weeks. A power brush such as the GreenSweep Reviver lifts flattened fibres with a rotating 300mm brush, which saves effort on larger lawns.
Is artificial grass good for dogs?
It can be, if it drains well and is kept clean. Pick up solid waste promptly and hose urine patches; Tapi suggests warm soapy water for lingering odours. The Namgrass Pragma uses a polyethylene backing that the manufacturer says is less absorbent than latex, which helps reduce smells. Tapi notes a shorter pile is easier to clean.
What pile height of artificial grass is best?
It depends on the look and use. Longer piles of around 35 to 40mm, such as the Namgrass Pragma 40mm, look fuller and feel softer underfoot, which suits family lawns. Shorter piles are easier to clean, which is why Tapi recommends them for homes with pets. Check density and blade shape too, as these affect how well fibres spring back.
How do you clean artificial grass?
Clear leaves and debris with a plastic rake or leaf blower, then brush. Tapi advises a deeper clean every four to six weeks: brush, wash with warm water and a mild, eco-friendly detergent that is safe for plastic, then rinse and let the lawn dry. Avoid metal-bristled brushes, which can damage the fibres.
Can artificial grass be recycled?
Some can. Many artificial lawns use a latex backing that has to be separated from the plastic pile before recycling. The Namgrass Pragma uses a polyethylene backing that the manufacturer describes as fully closed-loop recyclable, so the whole roll can be processed without separation. Ask your local recycling centre what it accepts before disposing of an old lawn.
